1. Not moving on it till you have a clear picture.
Abraham didn’t have a clue what he was going to run into on his way to becoming a nation. We can read his story now and know everything turned out great. However, living through it was quite different. Imagine being told to leave everything and head…… that way.
It would have been nice to have had more info.
However the Bible says in Pslams, God’s His Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to your path.
Sometimes God will give you just enough clarity to make the next step. Take the step.
You might turn out to be like Joseph. He didn’t even have a plan. He was told by God to go to Egypt. He was sold into slavery. God never revealed to him what was going on till he had come full circle and could see it for himself. You can be right in the middle of God’a will for your life and not even know it.
2. Waiting till the right people agree with you.
If Jesus Himself had critics you will too.
“You’re not smart enough.” “You’re not educated enough.” “You’re just like your….” People will say all this to you and more in order to discourage your potential. Only you know what God has put inside you to do.
Jesus was trying to save the world and was misunderstood, mocked, and eventually killed. However it was all part of the plan for our redemption. I’m convinced that even the negative people in our lives are meant to do us good. People killed Jesus and the world can now be saved by His blood.
People try to break you down with criticism and all it does is help you truly put your faith and hope in Jesus. It makes you stronger than ever.
3. Thinking that failing once is all the chance you’ll get.
Abraham messed up along the way. He lied by saying his wife was his sister because he was afraid.
Peter lied about knowing Jesus three times when Jesus needed him the most.
Paul had to part company with Barnabas due to conflict.
God doesn’t use perfect people. He used people who don’t give up trying.
You may be thinking God is finished with you because of past mistakes. Actually He has His hand of forgiveness stretched out not to slap you but to pull you back up to your feet.
Don’t let anything stop you from pursuing your dreams.
