Taking Personal Inventory

Luke 14:28-35 (NIV)

28″Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Will he not first sit down and estimate the cost to see if he has enough money to complete it? 29For if he lays the foundation and is not able to finish it, everyone who sees it will ridicule him, 30saying, ‘This fellow began to build and was not able to finish.’

31″Or suppose a king is about to go to war against another king. Will he not first sit down and consider whether he is able with ten thousand men to oppose the one coming against him with twenty thousand? 32If he is not able, he will send a delegation while the other is still a long way off and will ask for terms of peace. 33In the same way, any of you who does not give up everything he has cannot be my disciple.

34″Salt is good, but if it loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? 35It is fit neither for the soil nor for the manure pile; it is thrown out.
“He who has ears to hear, let him hear.”

Can you believe we’re almost to the end?  Some be saying, “Yeah.  This has been the longest 21 days of my life.”   Others may being feeling as though the days seemingly blew by.  No matter how the time has passed the main thing is that it has done so.

Time to take inventory.  Think about the following questions concerning the past 21 days:

1. What have you accomplished?

2. How do you feel about this process?

3. Where do you go from here?

Very thought provoking. Today, as we are coming to an end of this great time together, don’t  be so focused on the ending that you miss the great experience we’ve come through together.  There are some amazing things in store for us.

Whether you’ve made the entire 21 days or if you’ve done part of it, you made it.

Think on the above questions.  Read them over to yourself and be truly honest.  For the next few days, we’ll be talking about our past journey together and where we go from here.  Don’t miss what lies ahead.  This is not the end.  It’s only the beginning.
