A Trustworthy Friend

S- SCRIPTURE

“I am counting on the Lord; yes, I am counting on him. I have put my hope in his word. I long for the Lord more than sentries long for the dawn, yes, more than sentries long for the dawn.”

Psalms‬ ‭130:5-6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

O- OBSERVATION

There’s almost nothing greater in life than having someone you can truly count on. There’s almost nothing worse than needing help but feeling utterly alone. I’ve experience both. A good friend at the right time is priceless. Something dependable when you need it is refreshing. It reminds me of when I broke my ankle as a teenager. I had been in so much pain that, when someone handed me crutches, I was nervous. Could I depend on the crutches to keep the weight off my broken bone? Turns out I could and, before long, I depended on those crutches to carry my weight so that my brokenness was protected. That’s who Jesus is. He’s a good friend at the right time. We can place our hope in His promises. He is a safe place to land. He protects our brokenness and heals it too.

A- APPLICATION

  • I will rest in His promises.
  • I will remember I can count on Him.

P- PRAYER

”Jesus, I lean on You today. You are a sure foundation. You protect and heal my brokenness.”
