Follow Me and I Will Make You
Matthew 4: 18-20 ESV– “While walking by the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon (who is called Peter) and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen. And he said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” Immediately they left their nets and followed him.”
These verses give me so much hope about God and His movement in our lives. These are some of my takeaways>>>
1. Jesus knows right where you are.
-This was not a casual stroll for Jesus. He knew right where He was headed. Same in your life.
2. God has a plan for your life.
-He has something He wants to do in you.
3. You are right where you need to be for God to use you.
-The Bible is full of people that God didn’t bring them out of situations in order to use them:
-Moses- raised in Pharaoh’s house to lead a nation to freedom
-Easter- right place to bring freedom to the nation
-Joseph- the devil meant for evil God meant for Good.
-God can use you you right where you are at, doing exactly what you are doing for His glory.
4. You’re a working progress.
-We are not yet made into everything that we will be.
-Don’t get discouraged because you have not arrived you.
-You are a work in progress.
5. Jesus tells us exactly what to do in order to be taught by Jesus, “Follow Him.”
-Make His Word part of your life.
-Spend Time with Him- The First Fifteen
-Give yourself away
“If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:31-32)
