In this world you will have trouble. But take heart. I have overcome the world.John 16:33
Have you ever had someone say, “I have good news and I have bad news?” What was your response? When this has happened to me I have learned to say, “Just tell me in whatever order makes the most sense.” Mainly this is because I am not always so sure which one I want to hear first. It reminds me of a joke I heard not long ago… What’s mixed emotions? Mixed emotions is like watching your mother-in-law go over a cliff in your brand new Lexus. 🙂 I didn’t say it was a good joke. Jesus had some good news and some bad news for us. Luckily, He knew how to let us know. He reminds us that we will have trouble. That is no surprise. If you have been alive for even a few minutes in this world and you didn’t get your bottle as fast as you wanted, you understand that bad things happen. However, He is quick to let us know we are not alone. He has gone through it all as well and has overcome. He is wit us. He is for us. We can turn to Him for help.
- I will not try to process my bad days alone.
- I will walk with the confidence that God is with me.
- I will turn to Him in everything, both good and bad.
Thank you for the opportunity to turn to you in every situation. Today, I walk with my head high because I know that you are with me.
