📚 Scripture. 💪

(2 Chronicles 15:2-3 NLT) “He went out to meet King Asa as he was returning from the battle. “Listen to me, Asa!” he shouted. “Listen, all you people of Judah and Benjamin! The Lord will stay with you as long as you stay with him! Whenever you seek him, you will find him. But if you abandon him, he will abandon you. For a long time Israel was without the true God, without a priest to teach them, and without the Law to instruct them.”

Observation: An old phrase says, “Dance with the one that brung ya.” This means when you do something to get somewhere, don’t change things up once you are there. This would be like a world-class boxer going undefeated until he gets to the championship bout. Then, after making it to the fight, he changes everything up. Don’t do that. Stay with what has worked. In this text, The people are challenged to stay with the Lord. When they are with the Lord, everything works out, and they are blessed. When they go away from God, it all goes South. This is true for us as well. It’s so common for people to follow God when they are in trouble, but as soon as things start going well, they start walking away from God. Be careful not to do this. Stay close in the sunshine and in the rain.

Application: Follow the Lord in all things, good and bad.

Prayer: Thank You for being patient when I get off course. Thank You for continually bringing me back.

“I am persuaded that men think there is no God because they wish there were none. They find it hard to believe in God, and to go on in sin, so they try to get an easy conscience by denying his existence.” –Charles Spurgeon
