Hello friends. Happy Saturday!
🎙️ Behind the Breakdown Recap
Wow! August is here! School is about to start again, and so much is happening in our country. What a joy we have to find peace in God's Word together.

📚 Scripture. 💪
(2 Timothy 4:7-8) I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful. And now the prize awaits me—the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on the day of his return. And the prize is not just for me but for all who eagerly look forward to his appearing.
Observation: The Apostle Paul is finishing up his final letter to Timothy. He is possibly days away from his eventual death at the hands of the Romans. He ends the letter with an encouragement to keep fighting. Paul has been through so many battles and he now sees the finish line just ahead. This reminds me of running my first marathon. Toward the end of the race, I was so tired and didn’t really care anymore. There was a sense of just wanting it to be over. Then, I saw it. The finish line was in sight, and a new sense of excitement came with it. I was almost finished. This is how Paul must have felt the joy of finishing well and being with Jesus had overshadowed the pain of death that was coming. Hopefully, you and I are a long way away from our finish line. However, when we face challenging moments, let’s always remember that the grand finale is coming, and we will be with the Lord. Let’s remain faithful and finish well.
Application: Don’t give up. We have more to live for than what we leave behind.
Prayer: Thank You for helping us always see that the days ahead are so much better than our past.

📚 Book. Essentialism. (Click Here for Review)
Essentialism is more than a time-management strategy or a productivity technique. It is a systematic discipline for discerning what is absolutely essential, then eliminating everything that is not, so we can make the highest possible contribution toward the things that really matter.
By forcing us to apply more selective criteria for what is Essential, the disciplined pursuit of less empowers us to reclaim control of our own choices about where to spend our precious time and energy—instead of giving others the implicit permission to choose for us. Essentialism is not one more thing—it’s a whole new way of doing everything. It’s about doing less, but better, in every area of our lives. Essentialism is a movement whose time has come.

✍️ Quote of the Week That Makes You Think
Just as bank tellers need a thorough knowledge of legitimate currency in order to spot counterfeit bills, so Christians need a thorough knowledge of the Bible in order to spot bogus religious teachings. How grounded are you in the Scriptures? How deep are your theological roots? How capable are you of detecting false teachings? –Charles Swindoll
