As a Christian, I am often asked about the viability of God's Word by non-Christians. People will say, "How can you believe the Bible when it has so many errors?" My response is usually to say, "Really? Here's my Bible. Show me a few." They will typically look at my Bible as though I have handed them a snake. Their eyes get big, and they start sputtering. Most people don't know if the Bible has errors or not. They have heard someone else say this and have believed it to be true. Occasionally, I encounter someone who takes me up on this challenge, and a beautiful conversation begins.
The truth is that there are difficult passages to understand. We have also had to learn about different writing styles and harmonization to understand specific passages. The Bible was not written as a textbook with all the information about everything we would ever need. It is a Divinely inspired story that points to Jesus without falsehood.
