My favorite episode this week: Romans 1.
📚 Sexual Confusion is the Result of a Lie. 🤥
(Romans 1: 25-27, 32) They traded the truth about God for a lie. So they worshiped and served the things God created instead of the Creator himself, who is worthy of eternal praise! Amen. That is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other. And the men, instead of having normal sexual relations with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men, and as a result of this sin, they suffered within themselves the penalty they deserved… They know God’s justice requires that those who do these things deserve to die, yet they do them anyway. Worse yet, they encourage others to do them, too.
Observation: This letter to the church in Rome is Paul's masterpiece. He is sending them his message of the Gospel. What we have is an amazing step-by-step building of how the Creator came to rescue His creation. The thing is, the Good News begins as bad news. We wouldn't need a Savior if we didn't need to be saved. This entire chapter is about how people turned from God and needed rescuing. One of the ways we have turned from God is when we trade the truth of God for a lie. One of these lies that is all over the current cultural debate is the idea of sexual identity. God's Word says when we turn our backs on the truth of God's Word, we embrace sin as acceptable. Liberal Christians try to rewrite the Bible and say that God didn't call our sexual brokenness, but it isn't true. God calls out several things in this chapter, including sexual sin. This blesses me because God doesn't let us hide from our sins. He points our sins out because He knows how destructive sin is to our souls. When we bring it to Him, He washes our sins away. He never shames us. He never embarrasses us. He heals us. The catch is we must realize we need it to receive it.
Application: Take a moment and realize that God doesn't owe us anything. We turned our back on Him. That's what makes His grace so amazing!

📚 Book of the Week. Building a Second Brain. (Tiago Forte)
For the first time in history, we have instantaneous access to the world’s knowledge. There has never been a better time to learn, to contribute, and to improve ourselves. Yet, rather than feeling empowered, we are often left feeling overwhelmed by this constant influx of information. The very knowledge that was supposed to set us free has instead led to the paralyzing stress of believing we’ll never know or remember enough.
Now, this eye-opening and accessible guide shows how you can easily create your own personal system for knowledge management, otherwise known as a Second Brain. As a trusted and organized digital repository of your most valued ideas, notes, and creative work synced across all your devices and platforms, a Second Brain gives you the confidence to tackle your most important projects and ambitious goals.
