Hello friends. Happy Saturday!

🎙️ Behind the Breakdown Recap

This season is what some people call the "summer slump." It is the time of year when people are feeling a little stuck. It's not the beginning of summer, and the fall has not quite begun. Many people have either been on vacation or have just settled in that a vacation is not happening this year. Don't let it get you down. Dig into God's Word and take the summer slump to Him in prayer. He can open your eyes to see things around you that are worth being thankful for.

📚 Scripture. 💪

(1 Timothy 1:15 NLT) “This is a trustworthy saying, and everyone should accept it: “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners”—and I am the worst of them all.”

Observation: Paul is training a young leader who will continue the ministry long after he is gone. One of the things Paul is sure to teach Timothy is the value of the essential foundational truth of salvation. We must never forget that the greatest miracle we could ever receive has already happened. It can be easy to become discontent in life and want more. Within proper boundaries, this can be a good thing. However, this should never come at the expense of what God has already done for us. This is true when it comes to salvation. It would be helpful for everyone who has been saved longer than five years to spend time with someone new to Christianity. Walk with them. Let their excitement and joy remind you of the honor of simple salvation. We have been saved. Our enteral destination has been secured. We have a home in Heaven with Jesus. There is nothing more amazing. Everything that comes after is extra.

Application: Ask the Lord to remind you of the simple joy of salvation.

Prayer: Lord, help me have a fresh revelation of the simple joy of salvation. I want to be forever grateful for what you have already done.

If Jesus was right, then the critics are wrong, despite the pretense of having scholarship on their side. For if Jesus is the Son of God, then it is a matter of Lordship, not a matter of scholarship. ~ Norman Geisler
