Yesterday was the longest day of the year. In my mind, we are now on a slow downward spiral toward the holiday season. I don't know if that's exciting or not for you. It is for me. It's been a joy to look over the last six months and see all the Lord has done in our lives. It brings joy to know that the same God is going to be with us the rest of the way.

(2 Chronicles 29:11 NLT) “My sons, do not neglect your duties any longer! The Lord has chosen you to stand in his presence, to minister to him, and to lead the people in worship and present offerings to him.”

Observation: Everyone needs someone to come along occasionally and get us going. We tend to get into ruts, low times, or lose perspective. That’s where we need good friends. A good friend celebrates with us in our successes, grieves with us in our failures, and sometimes challenges us in our stagnant seasons. The challenge is that you must be a true friend to know the difference. Be the type of friend and invite the kind of friends who are willing to share in the long journey. Then, dare to step into these spaces and challenge others to take a step. If someone steps into this space with you, celebrate their willingness to love you enough to get you going again.

Application: Never allow yourself to get too stagnant for too long.

Prayer: Thank You for sending people into our lives who love us enough to challenge us.
