๐Ÿ“š Scripture. ๐Ÿ’ช

(Jeremiah 21:8-10) โ€œTell all the people, โ€˜This is what the Lord says: Take your choice of life or death! Everyone who stays in Jerusalem will die from war, famine, or disease, but those who go out and surrender to the Babylonians will live. Their reward will be life! For I have decided to bring disaster and not good upon this city, says the Lord. It will be handed over to the king of Babylon, and he will reduce it to ashes.โ€™

Observation: The context of the passage above is that Jeremiah is telling the people God says they will find life in surrendering to the invading armies. They will find life purposefully going through a terrible time of surrender, relocation, and exile. This doesnโ€™t make sense. Doesnโ€™t God want us to fight to the death and never surrender? Not always. Sometimes, the only way to grow is to go through difficult times. Sometimes, there is life in dark seasons. The question is, how do we know the difference? This is why we must stay close to the Lord and constantly read His Word. By doing this, we grow to understand His ways and His character. Then, we can slowly see the signs of His faithfulness around us.

Application: Trust the Lord and move forward.

Prayer: Thank You for never leaving us in every dark season.
