Hello friends. Happy Saturday!

🎙️ Behind the Breakdown Recap

Wow! September is already almost over! Fall is here, and cooler weather is on the horizon. Thank Goodness God's Word doesn't change like the seasons.

📚 Scripture. 💪

(Job 35:14) You say you can’t see him, but he will bring justice if you will only wait.

Observation: One of the worst statements I hated hearing from my father when I was a kid was, “We’ll cross that bridge when we get to it.” I wouldn't say I liked that phrase because that meant we were to wait and be patient. I always wanted to know what was coming next and what to expect. My dad would tell me to wait, and we would know when the time was right. For now, live in the moment and experience what was before us. In other words, be patient. I know many people who understand the value of patience, but I don’t know many who like patience. It’s a necessary evil. Most people I know want it now and enjoy it without much conversation. Whatever it is, hurry up. Unfortunately, that is not the way to the best things in life. The best things take time and patience. So, no matter how much we dislike it, we must cultivate more patience.

Application: To prepare for the bigger things, cultivate patience in the little things.

Prayer: Thank You for walking slowly with me.

✍️ Quote of the Week That Makes You Think

There are no ordinary people. You have never talked to a mere mortal. Nations, cultures, arts, civilizations - these are mortal, and their life is to ours as the life of a gnat. But it is immortals whom we joke with, work with, marry, snub and exploit - immortal horrors or everlasting splendors. This does not mean that we are to be perpetually solemn. We must play. But our merriment must be of that kind (and it is, in fact, the merriest kind) which exists between people who have, from the outset, taken each other seriously - no flippancy, no superiority, no presumption.
~ C.S. Lewis, The Weight of Glory
