You Are Noticed.

‘What is the price of two sparrows—one copper coin? But not a single sparrow can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it. And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.’

Matthew 10:29-31

I grew up with some birds around the house as pets. Over the years, we spent a lot of money on those birds. There was always seed to buy, new cages, vet visits, clipping their wings, etc. When I think of the cost of a bird, I think of them as a big expense! Jesus says you are worth more than that. He even says the very hairs of your head are numbered. I know we like to make jokes about that not taking long for some people, but don’t miss the point. The point Jesus is trying to make is that God takes time making sure He knows everything about you. When you think about it like that it’s amazing to realize how noticed you are by God.

  • Take a moment today and be thankful that I am noticed by God.
  • Use the assurance that God really sees me to give me a chance to focus less on me and more on noticing others.
  • Realize we all have value. I’m no one’s victim and no one is mine. We are all fearfully and wonderfully made.

“Jesus, help me to realize I have not been missed by you. Even when I feel like the world is passing me by, You see me.”
